WELCOME August 2021
Welcome back! I hope everyone is well. We will have our first meeting since the onset of COVID on Friday, September 17th at 7:00 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road in the Auditorium. (Note this is the Third Friday due the Center’s scheduling conflicts.) There will be some requirements……. you must be vaccinated to attend AND wear a mask for the duration of the meeting. You will have to sign in upon entering the meeting room. There will be hand sanitizer at the sign in table, as well as bottled water and straws so you can leave your mask on. No other refreshments will be served.
The board voted to decrease the dues to $10 for the 2021-2022 term, as a “welcome back, glad you are here, and we can beat this” bonus! Additional charges for featured artist pages will remain the same. Dues are due September 30 to remain a member in good standing.
Enclosed are the prospectus and entry form for our Holiday Exhibit. You must be a member in good standing (paid up dues) to participate. We say “exhibit” instead of show this year due to changes we made due to COVID. We will accept artwork from our members to be displayed at the Amherst center for a two month period. We will have judging of the artwork as usual and awards will be given. However, there will be NO raffle auction, NO refreshments, NO music and most likely a limited number of guests per participant will be allowed at the opening. As you know, we have all had to adapt to COVID living; our “show” and regular meetings will be no exception.
Hope to see everyone at the meeting, but if you are uncomfortable about being together in the meeting room, or are sick in any way, please stay home and stay safe! Sharing our art is our business and health & safety is our concern!
